UNDERSTAND THE STATE CONTEXT
Colorado: state rules and local policies
Colorado has an adult-use cannabis framework and a separate medical framework. The state's educational guidance emphasizes that local governments, employers, schools, and property owners may have additional rules or policies.
A few things to keep in mind
- Adult-use rules are for people 21 and older. Do not assume the same rules cover the medical framework.
- State guidance says public cannabis use is prohibited. Check local rules and the policies of the place you are visiting or staying.
- Keep cannabis clearly labeled, in child-resistant packaging, and locked away where children cannot see or reach it.
