UNDERSTAND THE STATE CONTEXT
Oklahoma: understand the medical framework
Oklahoma's medical marijuana system is regulated by the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority. Its rules and patient responsibilities are a useful starting point for understanding the state's framework, public-place restrictions, and safety expectations.
A few things to keep in mind
- Check the version marked current on OMMA's rules page. Proposed rules and older versions may have different requirements.
- OMMA's patient guidance explains that employers do not have to allow possession or use at work, and public smoking and vaping are subject to applicable smoking laws.
- Keep cannabis secured away from children and pets. OMMA also states that licensed patients must not take medical marijuana across state lines.
