UNDERSTAND THE STATE CONTEXT

Missouri: separate the frameworks

Missouri regulates both medical and adult-use cannabis through the Department of Health and Senior Services. Its official rules page separates constitutional provisions, current regulations, emergency amendments, and proposed changes.

A few things to keep in mind

  • Adult-use and medical rules are different. Read the source for the framework you are researching instead of combining their requirements.
  • Missouri's consumer fact sheet states that public consumption is not allowed and that its cannabis law does not permit driving while under the influence.
  • Check effective dates before relying on a rule. A proposed amendment or an older summary may not describe the rule in force.
